Bibb
County Lake is located just off Highway 5 between
Brent and Woodstock. It is open daylight to dark.
The lake is closed on Mondays February 1 through June
30, and closed on Mondays & Tuesdays July 1 -
November 30. The lake is closed during December and
January each year. A fishing license and a daily permit
are required. These are available for purchase at
the lake, along with a full line of live bait, tackle,
boat rentals, snacks and beverages.

County Glades Preserve: "A Botanical Wonder,"
our preserve in Bibb County is home to 61 rare plant
species. The Little Cahaba River, which flows through
the preserve, harbors dozens of rare aquatic creatures.
The site also includes Brighthope Furnace, the earliest
ironworks built in the State of Alabama. This breathtaking
site is truly a "lost world" of species.
This preserve is open to the public during daylight
hours. Visitors can park at the entrance gate and
walk to the Little Cahaba River. Please be mindful
of fragile plants. Planned events allow visitors to
participate in stewardship and educational activities
throughout the year.
Heritage Park in Brent is available
for public use, including reunions, club functions,

Tannehill Ironworks
Historical State Park in McCalla provides camping
and many special historical and cultural events throughout
the year. Tannehill is 12 miles southwest of Bessemer
and can be accessed by taking exit 100 from I-20/59.

Land Theme Park: Home of the Rampage wooden roller
coaster and Steel Waters waterpark plus many other
rides and attractions. VisionLand is open weekends
spring and fall, daily through mid-August - call for
